EAN Science School 2023 in Salzburg, Austria
March 18 – March 20
Dedicated to clinical neurologists in training who did not yet complete their residency/ clinical speciality training. For the second Science School in 2023, the overarching theme will be “Tools to predict and improve outcomes of neurological disorders”.
- State-of-the-art morning lectures exclusive for 60 participants with afternoon small group (20 participants each) workshop to ensure hands-on focus for 3 days.
- Networking with participants and speakers during dinners, breaks, and the social programme.
- Accommodation, tuition, board and programme are covered by EAN – Participants pay only for their travel.
- Participation throughout the course is mandatory. All participants will receive a certificate after having finished the course.
The event is invite-only and will be held online via Zoom.
The Rehabilitation in Multiple Sclerosis (RIMS) Annual Conference takes place in Genoa, Italy, on 4-6 May, on ‘Translating Knowledge into Practice: Embracing the Complexity of MS Rehabilitation.

What is the Brain Health Summit?
Starting in 2022, the European Academy of Neurology is hosting bi-annual Brain Health Summits, which are events targeting high-level political stakeholders and key players in the neurology field ranging from partner societies, non-governmental organization, health ministries, governments, medical professionals, patients, and more. All of these stakeholders play a vital role in supporting us in our mission to advocate for brain health and to develop a united, clinically driven research agenda.
Dedicated to neurologists in training who did not yet complete their residency/ clinical speciality training.
Daily topics are: Neuromuscular Junction disorders; Neuro-oncology; Epilepsy.
School outline is:
- State-of-the-art morning lectures exclusive for 120 participants with afternoon small group (40 participants each) workshops to ensure hands-on focus for 3 days.
- Networking with participants and speakers during dinners, breaks, and the social programme.
- Accommodation, tuition, board and programme are covered by EAN – Participants pay for their travel only.
- Participation throughout the course is mandatory. A self-test exam is offered on the last day. All participants will receive a certificate after having finished the course/ passed the exam.

NSANZ 2023 will be held on 11-13 August 2023 at the Sofitel Brisbane Central, Queensland. Make sure to visit the Joint ESC / EAN Session Heart and brain interactions on Saturday, August 26, 11:15-12:15h (Hub Rembrandt), co-chaired by Prof. W. Doehner and the Co-Chair of the EAN Scientific Panel on Stroke, Prof. H. Christensen, to learn from specialists in both cardiology and neurology about the relevant aspects of heart-and-brain interactions in clinically important comorbidities including discussion of dementia, Takotsubo syndrome and stroke-heart syndrome.
Interventional aspects of brain protection in acute cardiac interventions will be addressed, as well as the complicated situation of cerebral microbleeds in cardiac diseases requiring anticoagulation. Further details on the programme can be found on the Congress Website.
Hydrocephalus 2023 Meeting – The 15th Meeting of the Hydrocephalus Society

The Hydrocephalus 2023 Meeting has an interesting programme with exciting but also controversial topics in adult and pediatric hydrocephalus from basic science to the newest clinical developments. Complications in hydrocephalus treatment should also be a focus of the meeting. They welcome clinicians in neurosurgery, neurology, pediatrics, radiology, geriatrics, and psychiatry, basic scientists, engineers, nurses, therapists, neuropsychologists, patient advocates, and others with an interest in hydrocephalus.

Make sure to visit the MDS / EAN Collaborative Session: Pearls and Oysters: Diagnoses not to Miss with lectures from M. Carecchio, E. Tolosa and R. Pons, co-chaired by EAN President P. Boon & MDS President F. Cardoso. In this MDS/EAN collaborative session, the speakers will guide the audience through a practical tour of diagnosis & management of patients with tremor, pediatric movement disorders & parkinsonism. The European Congress of NeuroRehabilitation 2023 will take place in Lyon, France from 30 August–2 September 2023. MAS in Stroke Medicine – Application Deadline 30 September
The purpose of the programme is to cover the entire field of stroke medicine, ranging from basic knowledge in pathophysiology, acute management of ischaemic and haemorrhagic stroke, primary and secondary prevention to neurorehabilitation. In addition, a research focus is maintained throughout all lectures, workshop and seminars, covering all aspects of basic, translational and clinical stroke research. An international faculty of world leading stroke experts will provide lectures, seminars and workshops in close collaboration with the local faculty at the University of Bern.
